Condition: lower left hand corner bumpedAutographed USPS First Day of Issue Ceremony Program for the dedication of Scott #2838 29c World War II 1944: Road to Victory Stamps with Map, FDOI, June 6, 1994, U.S. Navy, U.S.S. Normandy Station. This program (C2?) is for the U.S. Army ceremony on the issuance of the D-Day stamp. It is signed by the Secretary of the Army and in addition to the official U.S.S. Normandy first day cancellation has an unofficial first day cancellation of 2838c 39c Normandy, June 6, 1994, Postal Square Station, Washington, DC. The program cover reproduces the famous photograph of General Eisenhower talking to paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division Screaming Eagles before they enplaned. Program measures 10" x 7".
