Item Description
OFFICIAL SEALS Tied to unusual LETTERSHEET: Black "Post Office Department" Issue; (Scott #OX21), TWO, used from New Haven (2c #634 tied New Haven Conn Sep 24 1931), on LETTERSHEET, apparently sent by child ("Mas" for Master return addr), and mailed OPEN, the New Haven Post Office thoughtfully affixed two official seals (one on each side) and cancelled them front and back, addr Auburn ME, the recipient never opened the lettersheet so BOTH seals are INTACT (sm tears), which is unusual to say the least, both seals are large "wing margins" (one SE), you can read some of the message by flexing the lettersheet, one crease, Rare showpiece! Fine-VFLettersheets are most uncommon in the US mailstream, and this unique way of sealing one is a top notch item for a Post Office Seal collector.
