Item Description

Registered postage is required to purchase this rare variety: Antique "G" in UGONG. Occurs in position 45, only once per sheet, so only about 33 of these are estimated to have been printed. They are very hard to find used (most were mint, collected back then by the English). Wood Fig 42: "Two" in italics; "CENTS" in antique capitals (occurs in Rows 6-10); 1891 "SUNGEI UJONG Two CENTS" on Straits 24c green. Scott #19 variety. Stanley Gibbons #49b, catalog value £1,300.00 back in 2010. Violet SUNGEI UJONG cancel, only in use from 1890-1892 (see third photo). Stamp has toned, but is still very rare and desirable.
