Item Description
Donors to the American First Day Cover Society's twice-yearly FDC Auctions receive special Thank You covers from the society's Auction Committee, depicting the committee members caricatured as various stamp-related characters.In 2007 they were all turned into butterflies, bees, bats and hummingbirds in concordance with the new Pollinators stamps.
This FDC for the 41¢ Bumble Bee stamp bears what is known to be the VERY FIRST of the popular Digital Color Postmarks. These were not well publicized at the time and far fewer than usual exist!
The cover is a combo with a Plate Number Coil strip of three of the 25¢ Honey Bee stamp of 1988
A handy guide to the critters illustrated, and which committee members they represent, is on the reverse!
