Item Description
The Roseate Spoonbill had appeared on two previous US stamps when the new Coastal Birds stamps were released in 2015. Those older stamps join their new cousin on a one-of-a-kind FDC combo - the only one serviced this way!The older Roseate Spoonbill stamps here came from the sheet of 50 1989 North American Wildlife (2308), and as part of the Southern Florida Wetlands sheet in the Nature of America series (4099f).
The four Coastal Birds represented on the cachet (and on the set of four Coastal Birds stamps) appear a bit taken aback at the sight of their graphically simplified counterparts on these stamps that paid a previous Post Card Rate. All on a colorful Pop-Up Bennett Cachetoon FDC.
The cover is normal-sized for your album . . . but unfolds to about 10" and to show all eight birds getting to know each other!
The cover bears a nice clean Digital Color Postmark from the official first day of issue on June 1, 2015.
