Item Description
Stamp Evaluation – Scott #635 (Used, No Gum – Single Stamp)Design Overview
Scott #635 is a 3¢ deep violet stamp featuring an engraved portrait of President Abraham Lincoln, issued in 1927 as part of the Fourth Bureau Issue. This regular issue stamp is framed with ornate scrollwork, large numerals in each lower corner, and “UNITED STATES POSTAGE” across the top. Lincoln’s iconic image made this a popular and widely used issue during the late 1920s and early 1930s.
This specimen is postally used and exhibits no gum on the reverse. A cancellation bleed-through and light crease are both visible.

Final Summary
Category Evaluation
Scott Number 635
Condition Used, No Gum
Centering 77 (Fine/Very Fine – F/VF)
Soundness Fault (light crease + ink bleed)
Perforations Full, uniform
Eye Appeal Very Heavy cancel (–15)
Final Grade 32 (Good – G)
? Final Verdict
This is a Good (G) example of Scott #635. While the centering is respectable and perforations are intact, the overall grade is significantly affected by a combination of a light crease, bleed-through from a heavy cancel, and the visual dominance of the cancel itself. Suitable for a space-filler in a used Washington-Franklin/Lincoln run.
