Item Description
Stamp Evaluation – Scott #708 (Unused, NH OG – Single Stamp)Washington Bicentennial – 3¢ Purple, 1932 Commemorative Issue
Design Overview
Scott #708 is a member of the 1932 Washington Bicentennial series, issued to commemorate the 200th anniversary of George Washington's birth. This 3¢ stamp features Washington wearing a tricorn hat and military uniform, inspired by a 1772 Charles Willson Peale portrait. “UNITED STATES POSTAGE” arches over the top, and “1732 WASHINGTON 1932” appears in the lower section, with the denomination displayed in ornate circles at the bottom corners. The stamp is printed in a striking purple ink with crisp line work.
This specific example is unused, never hinged, and has original gum.

All perforations are free of the design, and the portrait is well-placed within the frame.
