Item Description

Single 3-cent rectangular frank with faux-perforation outer frame and circular separate town mark (group H) metered mail cut square in F-VF condition. No flaws noted. The cut square is clean, has no creases or wrinkles; its frank & town mark are sharp & the colors of the marks are distinct. The outer circle of the town mark measures 26.5mm while the broken inner circle is 21mm. The frank measures 26.5mm x24mm. The 'cc' printed at the bottom of the frank indicates that this postage was created on a Commercial Controls Corporation meter and the '8752' is the town circle designation for 'PAINESVILLE OHIO' as indicated in within the broken inner circle. All indications of the cut square point to this having been printed by a series 14 Commercial Controls meter. It is a sub-group HC example of metered mail.
