Item Description
United States, Scott #3270, used(o), 1998, Eagle and Shield definitive coil, covering the (10 cent) rate for the standard class presorted mail, non-personalized marketing mail that's been sorted and bundled by size and ZIP Code by the sender; it is designed for materials like catalogs, coupons, and promotions; designed for bulk mailings where delivery speed is not critical and, as the pre-sorting saves the post office labor, qualifies for lower postage rates at 10 cents than first class mail which at the time was 33 cents, multicolored, serpentine die cut simulated perforations at scale: 11 vertical (imperforated at the top and bottom, perforated at the sides {IPIP}), photogravure printed and issued in coils of 10,000 stamps by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), non-water soluble self-adhesive gum, ‘small’, 1½mm, blue date at the lower left corner, no watermark, (stamp should not be confused with the similar same date stamp, but with a large, 1¾mm, blue date {Scott #3270a} and with similar pair of same date stamps, but perforated: 9.90 vertical {Scott #3271 and 71a}, and with a series of earlier year stamps, similar Eagle and Shied designed but labeled for ‘bulk rate’ mail), Scott 2025 Catalog Value: 25¢, slightly off-centered (very fine) which is good for a coil stamp as most are considerably off-centered, light, quarter-to-half circular, socked-on-the-nose, green-inked, double-rimmed corner cancellation at the top left and just into the main image, sound back, good perforations; centering, mounting, and image free cancel warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive. Please review my terms of sale. If you are not ordering from the United States, there is a $US1.65 additional postage expense that needs to be added to the price of the stamp. If you are ordering from the United States, there is only a $US0.73 added postage expense. Also, if you make additional purchases from my offerings, they can all go in one mailing at no extra shipping expense for the added purchases. I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
By way of reference, I am an American Philatelic Society member (195176) and an American Stamp Dealers Association (ASDA) member. Thank you for looking, and I hope this is the perfect stamp to fill that gap in your collection.
