Item Description

United States, Scott #3766, used(o), 2003, (not to be confused with Scott 3766a dated 2008), Sculpture of Wisdom in Rockefeller Plaza, sculpted by Lee Lawrie, the 37 foot art deco icon was installed over the entrance of the main building at Rockefeller Center, sculpture depicts Wisdom brushing away the clouds of ignorance with his left hand, with his right hand on a compass piece showing control and direction; below the sculpture is the Biblical passage: "Wisdom and Knowledge Shall Be the Stability of Thy Times" (Isaiah 33:6), $1.00, multicolored, Scott 2025 catalog value: 50¢. Nicely centered (superb), three, black-inked, disjointed remnants of a slightly tilted, vertical bar cancel across the bottom half of the stamp, with two marks in the middle and a third on the right border, cancel marks are just clear of the main image, good perforations, stamp was issued pressure-sensitive adhesive panes, this stamp was soaked from the mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed on a piece of black trimmed card stock for an attractive and uniform album appearance, good perforations; centering, mounting, and largely image clear cancel warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.

I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
