United States, Scott #4120, used(o), 2006, Black Heritage Series, stamp honors Ella Fitzgerald (1917-1996), the 30th honoree in the series; she was a music vocalist and jazz singer, with over 200 albums, which sold over 40 million copies; winner of 12 Grammy Awards; she was the most popular female jazz singer in the United States for more than half a century; known as the 'First Lady of Song' and the 'Queen of Jazz,' she was noted for her purity of tone, impeccable diction, phrasing, timing, pitch accuracy, and a "horn-like" improvisational ability, particularly in her wordless, nonsensical scat singing; serpentine die cut 11; lithography printed by Ashton-Potter (USA) Limited, no watermark, issued in non-water soluble self-adhesive panes, 39 cents, multicolored, Scott 2019 catalog value: 25 cents. Nicely centered, light, horizontal line cancellation on the left side of the stamp and into the main image, stamp has a series of slight vertical surface wrinkles caused when the customer removed the stamp from the post office pane, wrinkles are only visible under an offset light, good perforations; the stamp was removed from its mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed on a piece of black card stock for an attractive and uniform album appearance; centering and mounting warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.

I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used. If not satisfied, return the stamp to me at your own expense, and I will refund the cost, but not my postage to you. If the stamp is not as described, I will refund the cost and reimburse you for postage both ways.
