Item Description

United States, Scott #5151, used(o), 2016, commemorative issue to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Wonder Woman Comic Book Series, over the years, Wonder Woman herself has evolved; stamp shows Wonder Woman during her Silver Age (1956-70); on October 21, 1941, Wonder Woman made her debut in All Star Comics #8; she then made her first cover appearance a month later on Sensation Comics #1 and received her very own comic book edition later in 1942; wonder Woman displayed a more compassionate and less violent side of superheroes and filled a role model for young girls; as other superheroes waned after World War II, Wonder Woman endured; so to stay current for the period, she was made to lose her supernatural powers to become more human, though remaining a strong and decisive woman; issued as a forever stamp at a counter value of 47 cents each, offset lithography printed by the Banknote Corporation of America (BCA), non-water soluble self-adhesive panes, serpentine die cut simulated at scale 11 perforations, 'USPS' in black inked, security microprint just under the hair swirl at the right middle of the stamp, the issued date is also in security microprint as a gray scale dotted lettering date, horizontally on the border at the lower right, multicolored, Scott 2025 Catalog Value: 30¢, slightly off-centered (very fine), large, light, half circular, black-inked, double-rimmed, quarter clockwise turned, socked-on-the-nose cancel over the left half of the stamp and well into the main image, good perforations, this stamp was lifted from the mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed on a piece of black trimmed card stock for an attractive and uniform album appearance with other stamps from the period similarly mounted; centering and mounting warrant a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.

I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
