Item Description

United States, Scott #5713d, used(o), 2022, Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the National Maritime Sanctuary System; stamp is part of a 16 stamp pane showing photographs from the Sanctuary system, this stamp shows one of the Sea Stacks, along the ‘La Push’ Beach at the Olympic Coast Marine Sanctuary which is located off the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State; the sanctuary includes 3,188 square miles of protected waters which includes several sea stacks, one of which is shown on the stamp, a sea stack is a large rock formation that stands in the ocean, separated from the shoreline, and resembles a tall stone tower; they are created when a sea arch collapses, leaving a pillar of rock standing on its own; these formations become important habitats for birds and other wildlife along the shores of the sanctuary; stamp is a large stamp, measuring 41mm by 41mm from perf-tip to perf-tip, issued as a forever stamp with an individual counter value of (60 cents), serpentine die cut simulated perforations gage 11, offset lithography printed by Ashton Potter USA (APU), issued with non-water soluble self-adhesive gum, multicolored, Scott 2025 Catalog Value: 50¢, slightly off-centered (very fine), black-inked, horizontal, wavy line cancellation over the top third of the stamp, good perforations, stamp was lifted from its mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed on a piece of black cardstock for an attractive and uniform album appearance with other stamps similarly mounted; centering and mounting warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.

Also, if you make additional purchases from my offerings, they can all go in one mailing at no extra shipping expense for the added purchases. I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
