Item Description

United States, Scott #5822, used(o), 2023, Contemporary Christmas Issue, Theme: Winter Wonderland Animals; a booklet set of four stamp designs picturing a deer, rabbit, owl, and fox, in the snowy habitats they call home during the winter; this first stamp of the set shows a stylized Christmas Deer looking at you from the optical center of the stamp, in the background are a dimmed winter sun and a pair of snow-covered pine trees in a winter setting; issued as a forever stamp in a booklet of 20 stamps each at an individual counter value of (66 cents), serpentine die cut simulated perforations at scale: 11, non-water soluble self adhesive gum, offset lithography printed, by the Banknote Corporation of America (BCA), phosphorus tagged paper, stamp is one of three internal, top row stamps in the booklet, guillotine cut imperforated at top, perforations at the left, right, and bottom (IPPP), issue date of 2023 in black dot, vertical security microprint at the top right corner, multicolored, Scott 2025 Catalog Value: 30¢, nicely centered considering the location of the issue date (superb), large, light, red-inked, quarter circular, double-rimmed, socked-on-the-nose corner cancel on the top left and just into the main image, however the lightness of the cancel leaves the main image remarkably clear , good perforations, stamp has been lifted from its mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed on a piece of black card stock for an attractive and uniform album appearance with other stamps from the period similarly mounted; centering, mounting, and largely image clear cancel warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.

I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
