Item Description

SCV $1.00 (2020). Single 12-cent Ship's Figurehead First Day Cancellation (FDC) international surface mail postal card. No flaws noted. The card is clean with no stray marks, the corners are crisp & unbent & the colors of the design are bright. The address side of the card shows that the right-hand corner is cancelled in black ink with the text "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE" on one line between two sets of horizontal parallel lines. The card also has a circular cancellation mark that indicates that the card was cancelled in "MIAMI, FL" on "JAN 4 1974". At the left side of the address side of the postal card is a Art Craft cachet that indicates "OFFICIAL FIRST DAY OF ISSUE" above two globes and a large ship and "12₵ International Surface Mail Postal Card" below the globes & ship on four lines. Also, "SERIES OF 1974" appears at the bottom next to an Art Craft logo. The message side of the card is completely blank. Vertical block tagging.
