Item Description

SCV $1.00 (2020). Single 12-cent Ship's Figurehead First Day Cancellation (FDC) international surface mail postal card. No flaws noted. The card is clean with no stray marks, the corners are crisp & unbent & the colors of the design are bright. The address side of the card shows that the right-hand corner is cancelled in black ink with the text "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE" on one line between two sets of horizontal parallel lines. The card also has a circular cancellation mark that indicates that the card was cancelled in "MIAMI, FL" on "JAN 4 1974". At the left side of the address side of the postal card is an Artmaster cachet that indicates "12₵ International Surface Postal Card" within a vertical oval above a three-masted sailing vessel. Below the sailing vessel the words "First Day of Issue" is printed in script. The message side of the card is completely blank. Vertical block tagging.
