Item Description

Entire single 5-cent Eagle in Flight air post postal card. Red stamp on a buff postal card. Very slight general toning is seen, otherwise no flaws noted. The card is crisp, is clean, has no spurious marks & no bent corners. The card has a black ink first day cancellation (FDC) mark that indicates the card was cancelled in "WICHITA KANS" on "JUL 31 9-AM 1958". The stamp portion of the card has been overprinted with "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE" between two sets of two parallel bars. On the left side of the address side of the card, an Art Craft cachet is seen that indicates "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE" above a picture of a jet fighter plane and "5₵ AIR MAIL POSTAL CARD 1958" below the jet plane picture. The message side of the postal card is completely blank. Typographed, stamp size=19 x22mm.
