Outstanding philatelic set from the 1930 FIFA World Cup in Uruguay – the first in football history.

This Lot Includes:

The complete set of 4 slogan cancels used during the 1930 World Cup  • One on postcard (genuine postal use)  • Three expertly reassembled from original fragments (2 of them are extremelly difficult to find ) 

A rare original cinderella (poster stamp) promoting the event (no gum, as issued)

At that time, no commemorative stamps were issued for the event. Instead, Uruguay’s postal authorities used propaganda postmarks on cancellation machines to support the tournament. These were active from late 1929 to mid-1930.

️‍️ These markings were not seen as philatelically significant at the time and were often overlooked by collectors, making surviving examples scarce. Each has the typical circular date stamp with a rectangular slogan to the right.

This is a rare opportunity to acquire the full set of postal slogans associated with the first ever World Cup – a must for thematic football collections and Open Class exhibits.
