Item Description

SCV $1.50 (2014). Single First Day Cover (FDC) with se-tenet pair of 18-cent stamps & a 10-cent stamp. The FDC is on a high quality linen-paper envelope with a Fleetwood cache ("The Battle of Lexington and Concord"). The 18-cent se-tenet pair of stamps include the Battle of Yorktown (SC #1937) on the left and the Battle of the Virginia Capes (SC #1938) on the right. The 10-cent stamp is the "Lexington & Concord" by Sandham (SC #1563) which appears below the se-tenet pair. The envelope has a black ink post office  mark issued in Yorktown, VA 23690 and dated Oct 16 1981. The stamps have a black cancellation mark that states "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE" between two sets of horizontal parallel bars. The back of the envelope has a short history of the event that inspired the FDC.
