Item Description

This c1938 cover from the Hotel Antlers in Indianapolis was stamped and sealed, but never cancelled or opened. There are no tears or contents. It was addressed to Indianapolis Mayor Boetcher. The name of Harry C. Moore is typed on the back along with a street address of 37 West 21st Street in Indianapolis. Harry C. Moore was president of the Pitman-Moore Company of Indiana, a manufacturing pharmacist that was later acquired by Eli Lilly and Company. However, that Mr. Moore was probably not living in the Exeter Apartments on 21st Street.

This hotel was located at 750 North Meridian Street and was part of the Albert Pick chain of hotels. The hotels in the chain are listed on the back.
