U.S. Scott U311, a 2 cent George Washington stamped envelope, with a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania December 14, 1895 hand cancel. The cover was sent to Unity, Pennsylvania and there is a Unity receiving backstamp dated December 16th. The left side of the advertising cover has an advertisement for H. Childs product Bessemer Shoes, which the ad says "WEARS LIKE STEEL". H. Childs was in business from at least the mid-1800s (found ad on-line from 1864) until after 1986 (Harvey Childs, Jr. retired as President of the company in 1986). The cover has 2 vertical creases - one on each side of the envelope, neither affecting the embossed stamp (see scans).
