     US Scott#500 NH 1919 Deep Rose type Ia 2c Washington beauty

     original gum, never hinged, tiny gum disturbance upper right corner
    
     Of all the red 2c Washingtons of this era, #500 is the only perforated type Ia.  Be careful as misidentification of 2c Washingtons is common.
     
     To be sure this was correctly identified I conferred with the experts at the Stamp Community Forum.  They pointed out several features that help confirm it for me.  I also compared it to a certified copy I own. I have no doubt whatsoever that this is a #500.

     This deep rose stamp color pops off the fresh white paper.   A great addition to any collection.
