Item Description

SCV $1.25 (2020). Single, entire 25-cent first day cancellation (FDC) postal card commemorating the Clipper Ship "Flying Cloud". No flaws noted. The card is stiff with no creases or bent corners. The card is clean with no stray marks. Its color is bright, the ArtCraft cachet is distinct & clear with a depiction of the clipper ship and scripted text saying "Clipper Ship Flying Cloud on two lines. The first day cancellation mark was issued at "SALEM, MA 01970" & dated "FEB 27 1985". The cancellation mark reads "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE" in black ink between two sets of parallel, horizontal bars. The stamp is lithographed & its colors are bright. The message side of the card is completely blank.
