Item Description

SCV $1.00 (2020). Single 9-cent Galveston Court House First Day Cancellation (FDC) postal card. No flaws noted. The card is stiff and clean with no bent corners. The address side of the card has a black ink cancellation mark that indicates it was issued in "GALVESTON, TX 77550" and dated "JUL 20 1977". The upper right-hand portion of the stamp depicts the Galveston Court House and it is overprinted with "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE" between two sets of horizontal, parallel bars in black ink. An Artcraft cachet depicts the "Galveston Courthouse and Federal Building of 1861" and an image of Blind  Justice and a five-pointed star in black ink. The message side of the card is blank. Tagged.
