USA Scott #210 - part perf bottom left to natural straight edge EFO - Banknote stamp tied by June 20, 1887 Canon City, Colorado cds and addressed to James Patrick of St. Louis, Missouri on G.D. Sowers McClure House illustrated advertising cover and with all-over printed advertising for 'Business Men's Association, Canon City, Colorado.' June 23, 1887 Saint Louis received backstamp and with June 28th and July 2nd processing handstamps along with blue 'W'. Manuscript 'Opened ? Mistake by James Patrick (To whom the cover was addressed to !?) Saint Louis Mo.' on reverse. Scott OX2a (brown) left margin single seals top. Stamp is damaged both from handling and usage as cover was re-opened at top. Includes billhead enclosure from McClure House of Colorado. The Post Office Seal stamp could be OX3 or OX4, neither of which Scott Catalog values on cover. (Scott 2015 catalog value on cover for OX2a $200.00) Scarce usage! Sent 1887, opened roughly at top with creasing/damage to backflap, some general wear & toning. Fair condition.
