Item Description

This is the 12 cent issue of the 1938 Presidential Stamp series, more commonly known as the "Prexies". This one has President Zachary Taylor on it, the source of the stamps vignette is the bust of Taylor in the Rotunda of the Virginia State Courthouse.The stamp is a violet color with white lettering and perforation size is 11 X 10 1/2. It is a rotary press printed stamp and they are un-watermarked. This is a horizontal pair that will look great in any collection, the one has a very nice hand cancelling mark on it as a reminder of how it used to be done.
