Item Description

A sound example of the 1 cent Express revenue stamp, imperforate vertically, with Fine centering. The part perf variety of this stamp is almost always found imperforate horizontally.
The Curtis Collection reports this as "more than 10 known". However, this was specimen # 9 when it was reported, and there were only 9 known pairs until a couple years ago. So a good guess is that there are fewer than 20 pairs known to exist that are imperforate vertically.
