Item Description

The destruction and killing at an end, Germany, like much of Europe, would spend the next decade rebuilding as two nations -- West Germany and East Germany. The key city of Berlin was zoned for both east and west and due to its inclusion within the East German territory those early West German stamps in use were overprinted BERLIN. Without magnification, the cancellation is difficult to read, but the CDS is clearly tied to the piece.  Study the images and feel free to make an offer.
