Item Description

A Hutnick printed cacheted cover hand cancelled aboard the US Navy aircraft carrier USS SARATOGA CV-3 on Apr 4, 1936 for the launch of the US Navy aircraft carrier USS YORKTOWN CV-5.

YORKTOWN was sunk in Jun 1942 at the Battle of Midway. SARATOGA was expended as a target at Bikini in Jul 1946.

The rear flap is not sealed.
