Vintage Circa 1915 US Poster Stamp Series Of Twenty Different Stamps Sent For 10 Cents. Public Library Saint Paul. Issued Under Direction Of St. Paul Association Of Commerce. Unused No Gum This Poster Stamp Is Part Of The Same Promotional Series Issued By The St. Paul Association Of Commerce, Entitled “St. Paul,” Which Featured Twenty Different Designs To Showcase The City's Architecture, Institutions, And Civic Pride. This Particular Stamp Depicts The Saint Paul Public Library, A Beaux-Arts Landmark Located At Rice Park. Designed By Architect Electus D. Litchfield, The Building Was Completed In 1917 With Funding Assistance From The Carnegie Corporation, Making It One Of The Last Major Carnegie Libraries Built In The United States. The Illustration Features The Library’s Distinctive Classical Facade, Arched Windows, And Elegant Cornices. Vintage Automobiles And Pedestrians In The Foreground Reinforce A Circa 1920s Or 1930s Date Of Issue.
