Item Description
This stamless cover is an artifact of WWI. It was mailed form Groningen, Netherlands to a sailor on the HMS Marshall Soult. The cover has a missing corner and other minor faults clearly visible. The route is complicated passing through Germany, France to Britain and then forwarded to the RN Barricks at Chatham in Kent. Censor labels for both Germany and Britain are attached. Chatham was the home port of the HMS Marshall Soult, a monitor constructed to shell German positions. It survived the war and served as a training ship in WWII.Seller Information
