Item Description
Condition: Mint No Gum as IssuedGrade: VF (Very Fine)
Track Page Views WithAuctiva's FREE CounterThe difference between a Manchukuo Local Overprint and a Local Overprint from Northeast China (mostly the Port Arthur issues in Scott catalog, but many others in the Yang and Ma catalogs) is indistinct. At times the catalogs will place an issue in one area as a random decision. The difference many times is the time line and not the geographic line. The "Liberated" forces of Mao between 1931 and 1949 produced local issues for the northeast area while the Japanese Occupied Manchukuo produced local issues after the Japanese were defeated. I list all of these as Manchukuo local issues (in deference to the catalogs) but keep in mind the historically fluid nature of political lines that were drawn and redrawn between 1945 and 1949.
