Pete Rose?! Hmm. Still alive. But when he's dead, a stamp honoring him as the Hit King would be appropriate. As far as the HOF goes, that's up to MLB, but gambling is legal now. Pete will make the Hall when the voters don't remember who he is and just look at the stats.
Fortunately, and against my Mother's fervent wishes who I repeatedly caught attempting to dispose of them in the trash, I have all of my old baseball, football, Beatles, Lost in Space, etc cards that I now have neatly organized in binders, each card in its own archival pocket. We're talking 1960's, so it has the likes of Mantle, Maris, Howard, Ford...pretty much all the big names (and those not so big) from that era. My biggest young a-hole move from back then? We were playing baseball in the neighborhood, and someone whacked our only hardball into the woods where we couldn't find it, and the game wasn't finished. My brilliant solution? I ran home and retrieved a hardball my father had given to me, that was given to him as the GM of the Plaza Hotel in NYC. The only problem was, it was signed by all the NY Yankees from 1966. We finished the game with it, and needless to say, scuffed the crap out of and scuffed that ball into oblivion. It brings a tear to my eye every time I think about what that ball would be worth now were it unscathed.
I'm so old we used to flip cards against the wall for fun and eat the bubble gum in the wrapper from the corner market. Pete's first year card was 1963 he played all the way to 1986.
I all ways wonder how many people actually smell or scratch n sniff there stamps because I see some funny descriptions listed on this site now I know some lick um then stick um but scratch n sniff um like sorry they don't have taste bud flavors for you to enjoy licking your stamps lol
I know of stickers that are scratch n sniff but never thought a postage stamp would have that too just to funny, now when will they come out with flavors for the how do I say needing Dr.Phil types flavors of the rainbow for there licking pleasure I mean if they do scratch n sniff why not flavors for when you lick n stick um lol just my goofy thoughts!
This is hilarious. John Oliver skewers the Federal Duck Stamp art contest. (Warning: if you're familiar with this show, you'll know it is not safe for tender ears.)
Mi amigo! Funny stuff! Are you ok? Is that Ron doing the piece? I don't know what he looks like but it sounds like something he would do...and something I would do for that matter....need more commas,,,,,,,
Honestly I'd pay $20 or more for just 1 MNH stamp of the Duck Hunting the Hunter! Add it to my funny stamp collection category! They need more stamps like that to be honest it would definitely boost USPS sales! Now how many of you got funny stamps that every time you look at um you crack a smile or have a child hood flash back? I have a few wish there was just more hilarious stamps out there like the bird tripping in mid air thats stupidly funny to me or a land animal trying to fly stuff like that is awesome and priceless!
Kris, couldn't figure out at first what was fun or silly about your comment. Finally dawned on me she's "silly" if she thinks we believe she's a whistleblower. I think she's a shill.

He was a solid hitter born in the same city as Ruth.
