Why does everything have to change? I still use the "classic" listing option for store listings- the new one is cluttered and actually takes longer to use even though it's all basically on one page. I find this "new" Hip Stamp home page and navigating system harder to navigate. All the most used icons were on the homepage with the now "old"system and easy to access- now you have to look for most of them. Maybe there are short cuts I haven't found yet but my first impression response is thumbs down- another example of IT guys with nothing better to do trying to justify their job status.
Horrible!!! I want my tab bar back and the ability to see my store at a glance. I don't want to go through hoops to find what I need. Time for another CLASSIC option.
RIng ring ring...."Help Desk!". "Yes...I'm having a probl....". Help desk -> "Reboot it and call me back if it doesn't work.......this is a recording.....also, did you know your car warranty has run out and we will pay cash to buy your house?".
Our team has been hard at work making improvements to HipStamp, to provide a better overall experience to our members, with a focus on delivering additional ease of use and value to our buyers, and in turn, increased sales for our Sellers. Our latest changes have primarily focused on the homepage, the header of our website, and turning our website into a Progressive Web App, which can be installed on your phone or tablet.
With regard to our homepage, these changes are primarily geared toward buyers and provide two unique experiences:
1) New Buyers: The new homepage aims to provide more detailed information about HipStamp, show what sets us apart from other marketplaces, and highlight unique items and features. The overall aim here is to increase the number of members that join once they visit our homepage.
2) Existing Buyers: For existing buyers, your homepage now focuses on key activities and events. It provides a fully customized feed of items and recommendations based on your previous activity, including searches, purchases, favorite sellers, watched items, and more. The goal is to help buyers find items that they're interested in easier and faster.
While these goals are focused on new members and buyers, both of these goals help deliver more sales to our sellers. With that in mind, we're happy to announce that we're already on track to exceed our expectations for these updates. Since the launch of the new HipStamp, we've had one of the best weeks on record for sales, and we're on track to have a record-breaking month in January by a wide margin.
Our overall changes within our header are also adaptive to provide the best options for both buyers and sellers. For example, previously, as a Seller, you could click within the header to go to the Members Area Summary page, and you could scroll down to the footer to click on the "View My Store" button (which was not very intuitive). Now, both of these options are located within the main menu, along with direct access to each of the main sections of the Members Area. This includes Listings, Offers, Orders, Seller Tools, and more.
With that above in mind, we appreciate the feedback shared here in our forums and are quickly working to correct any features that are not currently working as expected.
I never received an email. The new site just showed up today. I was using the previous one yet this morning. I don't know why they made the change unless they are trying to get as screwed up as Ebay.
What they have done is make it impossible to be in your store and then use the top search bar - the mode I am in 100 per cent of the time when trying to list new items.
It works when in your store before you search but not after you search in your store which defeats the purpose of it - you have to constantly back into and out of your store - OR just open another tab with Hipstamp and toggle back and forth. Not too bad until (and if) they fix it - but definitely third world programming.
Back in the day when you were going to do an update you had an alpha version which you tested in the sand box before coming out with your Beta where you had a few people test in the real world. If there were no problems you then put it out for the general public. I have been getting little pop ups for 2 days now to update a page and hopefully it does not mess up what I was working on. These people have no clue.
Why they keep breaking what is working well is beyond me.
Because as long as there are bugs, the programmers continue to get paid since they are the ones who crated the bugs, they know where they are. Then they create more bugs, and have to fix them. Ever wonder why your phone apps are constantly getting updates to fix bugs, when the apps have been around for years? You would think the bugs were all fixed by now...but then the programmers would be out of work.
Well...I am a bit concerned if and how this change may affect the customer facing site. Like the sellers stores on HipStamp and our functions that we use everyday, might this affect the comfort level of the customer is there is frustration with the change from their point of view? After all, is that not why we as dealers do this? To provide a quality and convenient marketplace for potential and returning customers. I do hope that this doesn't cause frustration for those who shop with us. Having said that, I have not heard any comments from my customers on this matter but I have noticed that in the last few days since this rolled out, my own stores "views" of items has seemed to slow quite a bit. Maybe it's the crappy material I've been listing or maybe just a coincidence. This gig is challenging enough, in my opinion, without having to deal with changes imposed by "the powers that be" seemingly for the sake of change. I've been saying this for years...."If it ain't broke....don't fix it!". Time will tell I suppose. I also hope that I used my commas correctly.
I'm a buyer not a seller, and I have to agree with all of the sentiments about the new site. There are so many things not just different but screwed up. I'm on HS every day and have been for years, but I have been so frustrated with the glitches and changes the last 48 hours, that I've been turning off my pc and doing something else. The changes weren't tested - that's obvious. The search box is the worst! It keeps locking up and won't let you type in it. And even when you have typed something in and try to go back and edit what you typed, it has some "fancy feature" that erases what you type if you swipe it, unless you very carefully stay inside the box! It's horrible and needs to be changed
I looked at it too. It is difficult to tell what their end-game was but it kind of looks like the same functions as now, just rearranged to look different. I didn't see any obvious added or enhanced functionality but then, there's very little detail in their preview. It would be nice, for example, to allow sellers to use their own categories/topics rather than their predetermined ones that don't always fit a given common topical like "Disney" or "Princess Diana" for a couple. Anyway...we shall see shall we?
If you look at HipPostcard (where I have a store, which is how I found out), you'll see the new format. The change-over there took place weeks ago. Although the new format looks cleaner and more modern, I still prefer the old look where navigation seems easier (its that 'don't like change' thingee again...)
Hey, I'm one of the unwashed masses. One minute I was cruising along the site, nice and smooth; next minute, the earth shifted on its axis, and I was thrown into an alternate dimension where Ron Lenke sits on the throne (not THAT one) of the world, eating hamburgers and jujubes (Iknow, it's sounds the same as this dimension), printing counterfeit 1 billion Mark Deutsches Reich stamps for his Roth IRA.
I search competitors prices before I set mine. Seems on this new and improved Hipstamp can't do that anymore. Placing a country and scott # on the search gets whatever the computer wants to offer. Unable to research at this time. Fix the problem please OR tell me how to do a work-around.
Carol, I experienced that and thought it was my computer being wonky. I finally opened a second browser (Brave and Chrome) to do my researching. Crazy.
I do not like the new site said Sam I am. I do not like the misplaced links and inconvenient location of them. Much more tedious. Fancy looking but not very friendly and functional for users. Seems like they are doing something for the sake of doing it. If it a'int broke....don't fix it. Duh.
I think I might have figured out the new "look". So some observations:
I suddenly noticed that the "look" is straight out of the 80's when Bell South offered me a free web space. This is Template A, Color Scheme 55. Makes me feel young again.
At least they have discovered the magic of black type.
They couldn't fool me. I found the tiny little "menu" button hiding in the upper left.
It would be kind of nice if the search bar worked in Chrome - although it works for me with Firefox.
I have been having problems using the old classic version to list. I will go to sell similar and then wait for the page to load and then I click on the CLASSIC experience which loads fairly quick. I then start typing the new title in, move the page down and then it goes back to the original title so I have to start over again. Very bad experience not counting the many times I have to refresh the page in order to get the new update.
These people that are doing this are very, very stupid.
well i can tell you from a buyers viewpoint that having to log in constantly is extremely annoying and unprofessional.. no other site i visit requires this with chrome. I assume they are using some outdated method of authentication that requires invasive third party cookies that most intelligent people block or a time out in the formula. no other site i use does this. This just tells me what I suspected all along .. that the programmers on this site are 3rd rate and really do not know what they are doing. the proof is in the pudding and the ebay sync issue is the icing. How many sales has this site missed because of the sync issue alone? I do know my two stores were closed so that is 5,000 unique one of a kind listings gone due to their incompetence. I suspect hundreds of thousands of new listings are no longer being listed here and nary a word from the management on all this mess.

This is a massive step backwards.
Why change if it worked for so many years well.

Not HS "royalty"

All in all a score of 65% with a question: Why???

Can't even find auctions on the mobile app. Why they keep breaking what is working well is beyond me.
